This is just a quick announcement to let you all know some exciting news - I am presently working with world-famous astrologer Chris Brennan to develop a course on horary astrology, which will be hosted on Chris’ website, The Astrology School (www.theastrologyschool.com »).
This is an amazing opportunity for me to work with a famous and well-respected figure in the astrological community, and I am very grateful to Chris for the chance to collaborate with him on this project.
Our Plans for the Course.
Chris and I have both been studying early Medieval horary astrology » for many years, and working independently to reconstruct the way horary astrology was practised in the 8th and 9th century by Islamicate astrologers such as Sahl b. Bishr, ‘Umar al-Tabari and Masha’allah b. Athari.
Now with this course we have come together to combine our studies and experience to bring you a new and exciting approach to horary astrology based on the oldest available source texts.
Over the coming months we will be updating the content in Chris’ old Introduction to Horary Astrology course with new video lectures featuring both myself and Chris. The video lectures will cover a wide range of topics including:
The history of horary astrology
Philosophical and conceptual issues in horary astrology
Basic technical concepts
Aspect doctrine in horary astrology
Assessing planetary condition in horary astrology
How to answer basic horary questions
Timing techniques
Specialized horary techniques including topics such as locating lost objects, choosing between options, buying and selling, legal battles, and more

This course will be a unique opportunity to learn a style of horary astrology that is not really taught or well known today. By going all the way back to the earliest available sources, we will teach you horary astrology the way it was practised in the 8th and 9th centuries CE: using whole sign houses together with a detailed and sophisticated aspect doctrine to issue accurate and helpful predictions for clients.
The course will be of benefit both to beginners as well as established horary astrologers.
If you’re a beginner, you will learn everything you need to start answering questions using horary astrology, and the historical background and early medieval techniques we teach you will be a great foundation for future studies and development.
If you’re already an established horary astrologer, the course will give you access to new insights and perspectives that will deepen your understanding of horary astrology. You will learn the origin and history of horary astrology, and you will learn new techniques and new concepts that will fill in the gaps left by later authors.
Birth chart readings on hold.
Preparing the course materials and recording the video lectures is a lot of work, so while I am working on the course I am going to cease doing natal readings. Rest assured, I will return to doing natal readings in the future, once the course has been launched.
